This body of work excavates forgotten fragments of twentieth-century mass culture, advertisements, propaganda and discarded print. Working in stark black and white, Bourbon reconstructs these fragments in paint, deliberately echoing the flat mechanical texture of xerox reproduction. We live in an age where nostalgia is manufactured and misinformation is weaponised. These paintings make that process visible.
