Between Sun and Shadow is a large-scale installation of three hand-painted banners suspended like relics from a dream. Drawing from vintage ephemera, Ozploitation cinema and forgotten fragments of print media, the work examines how Queensland has been imagined, sold and mythologised. Sun-drenched and seductive on one hand, gritty and unsettling on the other. The contrast is never resolved. It sits there, asking to be felt rather than explained.
